Roigers catches fire shoots Saturday 67 at the Golfzon Vision Open
Saturday was a rainy day at the PGM Sobu Country Club course at BIRDI Golf. The Golfzon Vision Open played out as many expected with tight fairways causing havoc on score cards up and down the field. But on this Saturday, one player blocked out the noise, found fairways and made some big puts to take a seemingly insurmountable lead.
Brad Roigers (currently T3 in the BIRDI Cup standings) is projected to move to the #1 ranking with his 5 under 67. His round featured 6 Birdies and only 1 bogey for the low round of the day.
Another notable round was that of Chris Parent. New to the BIRDI Cup and the IGL, Chris carded 3 Birdies on the front 9 and was only 1 over par heading into the 17th, but a disastrous 8 on the reachable Par 5 left him +4 on the day and one stroke behind Ronnie Christensen, last weeks winner of the Phoenix Open, who shot a respectable +3 on the day.
Tournament action continues this week at BIRDI Golf in Woodbury.
